Dream Desktop

November 7, 2011 by izzy

Since I’m on a bit of a wish list theme here I just have to add this:

Mitch’s Multi-Monitor, Over the Top Home Office is certainly wired for function and fun.  And if a deck of screens isn’t enough  splitting the two types of desks is genius to me.

And just look at how beautifully this whole office works.  Rest and read at the other end. Ahhhhh…

Now here’s a tool that any educator would be happy using. Diigo, is a cloud based personal information management tool that allows you to collect and access a variety of digital information. You install Diigo and then go about using the bookmarking, highlighting, and sticky notes. Capture, annotate, and share your notes all inside a cloud.

You can access your information on the go. Try the free plan first and also check out the Educator’s upgrades.

Facebook Buys Push Pop Press

August 3, 2011 by izzy

Back a few months ago, I got Push Pop Press’s book Our Choice by Al Gore. It is an amazing little book, for my iPad.  Today the New York Times has an article about how FaceBook has just bought Push Pop Press.

Facebook denies such a claim. A press release on the Push Pop Press Web site said, “Although Facebook isn’t planning to start publishing digital books, the ideas and technology behind Push Pop Press will be integrated with Facebook, giving people even richer ways to share their stories.”

Don’t be fooled, once you look at what Push Pop Press has done here you will get a better understanding of ‘how’ FaceBook will be incorporating this interaction into the FaceBook experience.

There are other theories about the company’s latest acquisition, too. Facebook could have chosen to buy Push Pop Press to swoop up a talented team of designers and programmers.

In any case, this is something to watch.
